The Journey of Jeff Jacobs

Jeff Jacobs is a celebrated singer-songwriter from San Antonio, Texas. From his humble beginnings, growing up on the south side of San Antonio, Jeff found solace in music. His early exposure to guitar chords from his older brother sparked a passion that led him to write his first songs at the age of thirteen. Music became his refuge and a way to express his emotions, transforming his life's challenges into art.

The Evolution of a Musician

Jeff's musical journey began when his brother taught him some chords to try to get him off the video games and into music. From there, Jeff was hooked, learning songs from his favorite bands. He started songwriting at the age of 13. He picked up that guitar and never put it down. Jeff formed a heavy metal band in high school, hitting the San Antonio scene with a bang. Despite the band's eventual breakup, it laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

After high school, Jeff became a father at 18 and faced significant personal challenges, including gaining full custody of his children. Despite these challenges, Jeff never abandoned his love for music. He took on weekend cover band gigs and continued writing songs, leading to the formation of the Jeff Jacobs Band in 2012. This band became the launching point of his full-time career, blending rock, blues, and country into a unique sound that has garnered a loyal following.

Overcoming Challenges and Coming Out on Top

Jeff's personal life has been a rollercoaster of resilience and determination. Raised by a single mother on the south side of San Antonio, Jeff learned early on about the challenges of life. His journey wasn't easy—losing the mother of his two oldest children and pushing through as a single father. But through all the ups and downs, Jeff found an outlet in music.

Balancing his love for family with his passion for music, Jeff never gave up. He took on weekend cover band gigs to support his family and kept writing songs. Even as a single father, he made sure his kids came first. Jeff's commitment to his children and his music remained unwavering, leading to a successful career in music.

Over the years, Jeff found love again with a woman who supported his passion for music and expanded his family with stepchildren. Looking Forward

Just before the pandemic hit, Jeff had made music his full-time career. But when COVID-19 shut everything down, he found himself stuck at home, unable to play shows. Despite this setback, Jeff's passion for music never wavered. He threw himself into songwriting, producing, and experimenting with new genres. This creative burst led to the creation of new projects like Plumb Druthers, Plain Oddity, and Here's to Nothing. These projects showcase Jeff's versatility and growth as an artist, proving that even in tough times, creativity can flourish.

“I wasn't going to let that hold me back! If I had to be stuck at home, I might as well make it productive. So, I threw myself into creating new music, exploring other genres and honing my craft.”
